History: He started out drag racing in 1959 and ran SS/AA
and AA/F dragsters for two years. He was given an opportuity
to drive on the oval track...and was hooked. He then changed
over to the super modified cars and raced at tracks in Iowa,
Illinois, Missouri and through-out the Midwest. Next, he began
driving IMCA late models on Dirt Tracks for the Elder
Racing Team. He has raced against drivers such as Ramos Stott,
Earnie Duerr, Dick Hutchinson, and Jonny Boecamp. After finishing
the 1964 season, he was called into the military and served
30 months in Vietnam. In 1998 he returned to racing after a
30 year absents. At age 65 he is still racing and enjoying the
challange. So if you see him on the track, remember he
earned his nick name, "Mad Dog", so either move over or prepare
to run with the big dog...
