MISSION STATEMENT

Welcome to the Tri-State Vintage Racing Association’s website.  As you can probably see we are putting a new twist on racing.  We are an incorporated race program that has set out to change the way the world looks at racing.  Most race enthusiast has seen what the sport has become: high speed bumper cars with out of control drivers.  We want to turn the hands of time back to a more civil era of racing.  One in which drivers respect and help their fellow drivers...one in which drivers shows self control and the best kind of sportsmanship.  Something that both the racers and fans can be proud of.  To this end, we are melding two world’s of racing together into one that will not only pay respect to yesterdays racers but incorporate today’s technology.  We are preserving the cars of the past with the body styles of the 1930’s and 40’s  and that is our core mission.  Our Original Series will still be faithful to the vintage-era, while the new Outlaw Series will keep the old look but use new technology.  This new series will not only make for faster racing cars but ones that are more affordable and more controllable.  We are integrating the old style cars with drivers that have a good mental attitude toward racing and the fans.  We are going to have racing that we are proud of and that you will be too.

So much racing out there today has deteriorated into a sad state.  If 21 cars start a race, nine may finish with 5 cautions due to blatant driver hostility or attitudes which takes up valuable time.  Unfortunately this is seen time after time, track after track, with few exceptions.  It does not matter if the car is a 600hp Nextel Cup car or a 5hp go-cart, hurt feeling and expensive repairs occur when a driver is overly aggressive with that “win at any cost” attitude.  We have asked the question, why can’t it be like it used to be?  We believe it can be and better!  We’re going to take pride in how we race, we will pass a car when it can be done cleanly, we will respect our opponent’s and their equipment.  No this is not a new idea or philosophy, this is how our father’s generation operated.  We have decided that instead of trying to limit the cars ability to handle and perform, why not work on the drivers’ mental attitude.  Our motto is “I don’t care who wins, but I do care how they win.”

We are running fast cars, check out the picture gallery, but we do not have a lot of wrecks.  Spectators come to see good clean racing, not adult bumper-cars with out control drivers and endless delays.  Our goal is to become a “full series” running original vintage cars, but mostly our new Outlaw Series on many tracks here in the Midwest.  We have a sellable commodity and we have what it takes to link up with one of the larger traveling series such as, the Sprints or Late Models.  We can give the spectators and fans a chance to see something different, vintage racing with a new twist instead of the old wrecks.  Take some time, look around our website and enjoy reminiscing about by-gone times.  We would be interested in hearing any comments or criticism that you may have.  We are actively seeking sponsors, so fell free to contact us.

Come see us at a track near you…
