ORIGINAL SERIES

Remember that TSVRA is looking to keep this sport as original
to the Vintage Era as possible. Lets all support this and
keep our cars as it was in the 30, 40’s, 50’s, and
60’s
like our fathers did. TSVRA reserves the right to make changes
or exemptions as needed.

BODIES
- Must be 1960 or older coupe or sedan body.
- Fiberglass bodies allowed if raced prior to 1975 (History must be shown).
Newer fiberglass bodies must pass inspection by TSVRA at each event.
- All Cars must have a hood that covers all hoses.
- Fenders on Cars are optional.
- No wings or spoilers are allowed.
- Full front and rear firewalls are required.
ENGINES
- Engine does not have to correspond with the make of the body.
- Engine displacement restricted to 350 and 351 cubic inch style
block with 0.060" over maximum.
- NO big blocks, V-6 racing style engines, or 400 small blocks.
- Must run a carburetor. ALL V-8 engines are limited to a maximum 650cfm, single pumper, single line 4-barrel. ALL inline-6 and flat head engines are allowed any type of carburetor.
- NO fuel injection allowed.
- NO turbos, blowers, or superchargers allowed.
- Must run gasoline…NO alcohol allowed.
- No dry sump type oil systems allowed. (Wet cap oiling only)
- NO traction control of any kind. NO controlling of wheel spin by any device.
CHASSIS
- Minimum of 100 inch wheelbase required unless car has been raced before 1970 with documentation to show.
- Stock, any year or make OEM frame components must be used back center over rear assembly and from there you may use box tubing unless car has been raced before 1970 with documentation to show.
- Sub-frames may be used with the original type frame section to bring back the frame back far enough to where it angles upward.
- Stock and after-market type brake calibers may be used if using disc brakes.
- Coil-over springs are allowed.
- Lower and Upper tubular A-frames are allowed.
- After-market Rack and Pinions are allowed.
- A Short Track Speedway or equivalent type late model and Sportsman chassis are not allowed.
- A tubular chassis made for racing is not allowed.
- A chassis using adjustable valving racing shocks are not allowed.
TRANSMISSIONS
- Must have full workable transmission with reverse.
- NO “in and” boxes allowed.
- Automatic transmissions are allowed.
- Three and four speed transmissions allowed.
- NO aftermarket transmissions allowed.
REAR ENDS
- Any type rear end permitted.
- Quick Change rear ends are permitted.
- Truck type rear ends are permitted.
- Any type brake system is allowed on the rear end.
SAFETY
- All Cars must have a full roll cage.
- Seat belts and shoulder harnesses are required.
- Each Car must have a fire extinguisher and be within driver’s reach.
- Must have fully enclosed fuel cell.
- Must have steel windshield bars (3 minimum) and full screen. NO lexan.
- Must have full front and rear firewalls.
- If batteries are in driver’s compartment, they must be in a marine type box.
- No fuel, transmission, or water lines are allowed in the driver’s compartment.
- Drivers must wear racing suit, helmet, and gloves.
- All weights must have Car owner’s number painted on them and painted white.
- ALL car numbers must be 18” or larger and placed on both sides. Roof is optional.
- Competition shoulder harness at least 3” lap belt of at least 3” and sub strap required. NO factory 7 type shoulder belts or straps metal to metal buckles are required on shoulder and seat belts. Shoulder harness should be mounted even with or above driver’s shoulders. Belts and harness recommended to be NO more than 1 year old.
- Bumpers should not be overbearing. Maximum height of twenty-four (24) inches and minimum height of twelve (12) inches, measured from the ground, Car level, with a minimum height (top to bottom of bumper) of ten (10) inches required. Maximum width (side to side) bumper not to extend past center line of each tire on each side. No sharp edges! Weld caps on all ends. Stock type bumpers may be used. If stock bumpers used, they may extend around body.
- ALL cars must have a “Master” cut-off switch and it must be clearly labeled ON/OFF and be within the driver’s reach.
- Drive shaft loop is required and must be constructed of least 0.5”x 2” steel and must be mounted no more than 6” back from front of drive shaft. Drive shaft must be white or silver.
WHEELS
- Maximum wheel width is fourteen (14) inches.
- Steel or aluminum wheels are allowed.
TIRES
- No tire rule.
